"Escaping Totalitarianism", Chapter 2: Censorship
Victoria controls everything and she hates freedom of expression. Now she’s pushed it too far by censoring works of art and science! Your mission is to contact the leader of ION by accessing The Ministry’s wifi hotspot. You’ll need to disable the alarms without alerting the guards. Use your wit and stealth to go undetected!
A NEW TYPE OF ESCAPE ROOM
“Escaping Totalitarianism” is a redesigned escape room using augmented reality, digitally applying the mechanics of conventional escape rooms enhancing the immersive gaming experience.
Augmented Reality (AR): Printed images will transform into videos, interactive games or 3D objects during the gameplay.
Do-it-yourself: You simply need to print and hang the images. You will see eye-catching graphics including: cameras, lockers, and secret codes.
Downloadable: This app contains everything you will need to virtually explore and interact with the printed images in the space.
HOW TO / INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download the app.
2. Visit the Game Page to View/Download the materials for your scans:

3. (Recommended) Print the materials! You’ll need a wall, table or panel to place or hang the printed material, and general craft supplies: scissors, tape, glue.
HOW CAN YOU USE ESCAPING TOTALITARIANISM?
This is a single player game you can play at home and it can also be:
- an active learning tool for educational courses, or
- engage an audience with a novel experience in conferences, workshops or special events.

We take games seriously. They engage the imagination, deepen learning and teach the value of resilience through failure. We are a multidisciplinary team of students, alumni, professors and professionals. We develop video games, board games and escape rooms using the latest technology and gamification methodologies. We organize game nights, interactive debates and brainstorms to create a gaming culture at UFM.
