The MOST accurate visual acuity test on the iPad (or iPad mini).

A built-in auto-calibration function on the iPhone/iPod will adjust the size of the Snellen Chart (and brightness) to produce accurate and reproducible results.

The iPad chart is fully functional, but the best way to use the app is with the iPhone/iPod remote (this requires an in-app purchase for full functionality).

An auto-dim function is set to time the screen out at 2 minute to prevent the iPad battery from being depleted (this is now user adjustable).

Tested with all iPad versions (maximal chart distance 7.4m/24ft), and with the iPad mini (maximal chart distance 6m/20ft). Tested with all current iPods with a built-in camera and iPhones except the iPhone 3.

The app has been tested by Ophthalmologists, feedback is encouraged.

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

Updated to ios8. The option to toggle 6/5 Snellen line added.
Auto-calibration of some of the newer devices may not be accurate - feedback to fine tune this is appreciated.

Missing an option to select a single line

Really useful app, but one major issue with the remote control

Controling the iPad app remotely with your iPhone is not functional because the iPhone app crashes when you push the down arrow.

For people that are very sensitive to light (like people suffering from achromatopsia) it would be absolutely great if the app had a 'reverse video' option to present white text, numbers, pictures etc. on a black background. People with achromatopsia always have a hard time when visiting their eyecare professional because the white background of the standard Snellen test has a 'blindening' effect on them.`
