Ik had de vorige versie van Flare: leuk met vreselijk langzaam inmiddels op El Capitan. Daarom (en vanwege extra functies) versie 2 aangeschaft. Maar: op enkele filters een vastloper gemerkt (> Force quit). En vandaag opnieuw een vastloper (met als basis een eenvoudige jpg), maar nu een vastloper die mijn hele Mac deed vastlopen, al in jaren niet meer meegemaakt!!

En vandaag opnieuw een vastloper (met als basis een eenvoudige jpg), maar nu een vastloper die mijn hele Mac deed vastlopen, al in jaren niet meer meegemaakt!!

I’ve tried three different apps for applying filters. Camerabag 2, Flare 2 and Analog.Camerabag is by far the fastest, but it has a wierd crop interface and I’m not a big fan of the default filters. It’s also the most expensive.Flare 2 has the best interface, and a nice set of defaults, however it is very slow. There’s beach balls all over the place. That makes Flare 2 loose its initial appeal. I’m also not a big fan of the borders that are included in some of the default filters. On the other hand Flare has very fine grained control similar to Camerabag 2 over all the filters and you can switch the borders off again. An extra step that I would be willing to take if it was so slow.Finally Analog lacks the previews in the fliter overview (which is a shame) and it also lacks the fine grained control, but it is fast and it has a nice set of default filters. It’s also the cheapest of the three. If I had a blazing fast Mac I would go for Flare 2, but on my 2012 MBA, I went with Analog. It’s easy and does one thing well.
