The year is 1949 and you assume the role of Joe King, a pilot for hire who is given the job of flying Faye Russell (a famous movie star) into the Amazon jungle for a photo shoot.
Of course, things never go according to plans. After an unfortunate turn of events they find themselves stranded in the heart of the Amazon jungle, where Joe will embark on a quest to rescue a kidnapped princess and in the process, encounter a dangerous temple, fearsome Amazonian warriors, and a powerful mad scientist intent on taking over the world!
It's up to you to deal with the imminent threat of world domination … but be careful, or this may be the last Flight of the Amazon Queen!

Pure nostalgie
Leuk dat deze game is omgebouwd voor de Ipad, vroeger had ik deze voor mijn DOS computer op diskettes, dus echte nostalgie !
Great port, nice extras, and pure nostalgia
If you enjoyed playing adventures during the peak of the success of LucasArts/LucasfilmGames, then this is a safe bet. Originally released in the same era, this charming game follows the adventures of Joe King, pilot for hire.
The game plays in the late 40-ies, and captures the atmosphere of that time pretty well. The game gradually gets harder by presenting the user with more “rooms” to explore. Puzzles are oftentimes logical, but with sufficient challenge, and overall the humor and gameplay make that graphics are of lesser importance. The port to iPad has been done fantastic, and plays really smooth. The addition of extras like original documents and background on the game with input from the creators, makes this money well spend.
While the portrayal of gender stereotypes would probably be done differently in this day and age, the game gets away with it, since it makes in game references to this like “this is the forties, this is how things go”.
If you made it all the way to here: buy and enjoy, it is fun, it is challenging and it works perfectly fine on the latest iPad (2020).
