Good idea.. not too happy with how it works

The idea is great, but the execution is pretty bad. The idea of having photographers share pictures from all over the world and “competing with eachother” is very nice, but it just doesn’t work in this format.

The main issue is that the votes are coming from other photographers (that’s good).. the bad thing is, is that they are also trying to “be the best”.
In order to “be the best” you need to get your photo’s seen and voted on. By voting on other pictures you fill up a little “exposure” gauge.. meaning, the more you vote, the more your own pictures will get seen in those voting lists. Meaning that most of the votes that you will get on your pictures, are just random votes of other people that vote to keep that gauge full, not because they actually like your picture.. So..... quality or a nice picture has very little to do with it....

Not to mention that you can pay money to either boost your pictures higher up or fill up that voting gauge to get higher on the voting list to get more votes on your pictures. And for what?.. you don’t even win money. You just win more credits to spend on vote boosters and such to rig the game and voting even more..

Sometimes you can win places for your pictures in a galleries all over the world, that is kinda cool!! But... knowing you only got there because you “worked” this app in such ways that you’re only really there because you managed to get the most random votes. Probably not really because of the quality of your image.. kinda makes it a victory with a bad taste..

I guess it’s mainly nice to have an app give you challenges of what to photograph. So you can go out into the world armed with your camera to chase down the subjects that are mentioned in the challenges. Yes there is also a “guru” selection part of the competition, which is based more on quality, But overal the entire competition aspect of the app is kinda bad..

Thank you for the feedback. GuruShots is a free platform with optional paid features. Winning a challenge depends on others to vote for your photos and is unrelated to how much a user spendscopy on purchasing tools. Resources can also be earned without paying. Zwarte balk

Ik heb sinds een tijdje een zwarte balk en een reclamebalk op het scherm. Helaas is daar niet meer mee te werken. Jullie vertelden me een maand geleden dat jullie je van die zwarte balk bewust zijn en eraan gewerkt wordt. Ik hoop dat jullie het snel opgelost krijgen, anders moet ik helaas afhaken van mijn favoriete website. Overigens iedereen die klaagt dat jullie alleen maar uit zijn op geld verdienen wil ik tegenspreken. Ik ben Guru geworden zonder 1 cent uit geven 😉 Ik geef maar 2 ** omdat de balk er al een maand inzit.
