Since 1949, LFI – Leica Fotografie International has been established as an independent magazine for the field of Leica photography, as well as the renowned go-to publication for anyone wishing to expand their knowledge, understanding and exposure to all things Leica.
Eight times a year, LFI presents the work of leading Leica photographers in extensive portfolio features. The magazine also offers in-depth test reports of new products, insightful technical articles on both digital and analogue photography, practical advice, exclusive reportages, and much more.
The accompanying App enables access to previous LFI issues, selected areas of the LFI Gallery, the LFI Shop as well as continuous updates and news from the world of photography. The LFI Gallery offers photographers from all around the world an opportunity to showcase their best images taken with a Leica camera, while the LFI News section keeps you up-to-date about the latest exhibitions, photography projects and technological innovations.

This version of the app offers improved login functionality for our subscribers. Thanks to the new login area, as a subscriber you now have the option of using the subscription with just one access and across devices and platforms.
In addition to the LFI.Gallery and Magazine sections, this version includes a direct connection to the LFI website. This is where the “Stories” are located – a new section that replaces the “News” and “Blog” sections.

Ok
There's a lot of functionality missing in the galleries, such as a search function for image titles, usernames etc.
The infinite scroll of the news items is a good feature but when one returns to the list it should go to where one was, not to the top. Otherwise the point of an infinite scroll is lost.
Of course more functions could be added, such as mirroring the Leica Blog in the app.
serious problems with the ownership of content
Every time when there is an update for the app -that you install- you have to download all your purchased content again. Annoying to say the least, and it costs extra money when you pay for your internet bandwidth, just to read your purchases content.
I am not sure what happens when you unsubscribe and update the app. Can you download your previously purchased content? I would be surprised if that works, actually, given the complicated way to download content when you have a subscription: you have to purchase evry issue but do not get charged... confusing.
App
Een prima app waar ik veel gebruik van maak. Ik vraag me alleen af waarom ik iedere keer weer de vraag krijg om de app te installeren. Ben ik de enige met dit storende bericht? Ga ik naar de appstore dan zegt die in al haar wijsheid " reeds geïnstalleerd". Voor de rest niets dan lof.
