Description
Metatext is a free, modern, open source, and accessible Mastodon client.
Features:
- Multiple accounts: You can add multiple accounts and even use several accounts simultaneously with iPad multitasking.
- Emoji: Metatext has a searchable custom emoji picker and supports animated custom emoji.
- Timeline management: Metatext remembers your home timeline position and can load gaps in either direction
- Mastodon features: Metatext supports most Mastodon features including lists, profile directory, and syncing filters
- Accessibility: Metatext supports VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, dark mode, and motion reduction.
- Private: No tracking or any information shared with third parties.

Good, but can be improved
The thing I like the most is the directional ‘Load More’ on the Home timeline. It makes scrolling through older posts one have missed since the last session so much easier. Thank you for this.
Here are some suggestions to potentially improve this app too:
A translator link at each post that is not the native/system language. Preferably by Deepl. Not sure if this will change the privacy declaration in a negative way though.
And Notifications shows that there is a Notification from another user, but not that it is actually a Follow request. This must be checked through the dedicated Follow request link in your own profile picture. This might be hardcoded in Mastodon or the instance, so may be a challenge to ‘fix’ this.
