Worth it

I’ve completed the game on an iPad Pro 2020.

Gameplay

The game is a third person shooter that mostly focuses on the shooting aspect. There are some puzzles to solve like finding a card key to open a door but it remains a fast paced game. Weapons and ammo pods are scattered all over the 8 chapters the game offers. The touch screen controls work well once you get used to them. I don’t know if other controller options are supported. I haven’t experienced any real bugs besides Seth moving on his own twice for a few seconds. Seth eventually moves normal again. It can take between 1,5 and 3 hours to complete the game depending on how good you are. The gameplay managed to hold my interest. However, I am not of the type to play in one sitting.

Graphics

The graphics look gorgeous on the iPad Pro. On the highest setting it is 99% of the time 60fps. The performance is therefore great. It is understandable that the game is more taxing on the battery compared to other smaller games.

Story

I actually didn’t expect for there to be a story, let alone one keeping me interested. It’s about brains being taken out and inserted into other bodies. You get to learn about the organisation, the people involved with the playable character and the creator of this technology. While some parts have been answered, the story is clearly not finished. A sequel is strongly hinted. I felt satisfied enough with what I got while looking forward to what might come.

Sound/Music

The soundtrack is mostly ambient in nature. It felt fitting and enjoyable to listen to but it’s not a masterpiece. The sound effects are also decent when you shoot and reload. The voice acting sounds Russian but I am not familiar with the language to say for sure. Either way, the voice acting sounded good and added some personality to the characters.

Conclusion/Feedback

I had a great time playing this game. I am surprised what I got out of €2. It’s definitely worth getting if you enjoy those type of games and don’t expect a highly unique or a fleshed out gameplay experience.

However there is always some room for improvement or suggestions.

-English subtitles: there are enough grammar mistakes. I still enjoyed following the story but I believe that this needs the most attention. It’s a shame because it’s the only apparent flaw with an otherwise well made game.

-Save: this is a minor complaint. The game auto saves within a chapter and whenever a chapter ends. Still, it would be even better to stop the game whenever you want.

-Fleshing out the lore: now that we know more about the story and what it is trying to tell, it would be neat to have scattered articles to collect if a sequel ever comes out.

-Fleshing out the gameplay: it would be cool to have a more deep inventory system or other gameplay options.
