Controls do not work

On iPhone XS Max, moving the finger on the screen to aim does not work as advertised. It is very hard to aim up and down, and the velocity is almost impossible to set.

Only when keeping the finger all the way on the left edge of the screen (behind the man) I am able to point up and down a bit. Otherwise, aiming and shooting is near impossible.
