OB-Xd is based on the Oberheim OB-X. It attempts to recreate its sound and behavior, but as the original was very limited in some important ways, a number of things were added or altered to the original design.
OB-Xd was designed to sound as good and as rich as the original. It implements micro random detuning. Also, like many synths of the OB-X's generation, the OB-Xd has no internal effects so its sounds and textures can be greatly enhanced by the use of additional processing like chorus, reverb, delay, etc.

Resolved an issue where the Bend Octave button MIDI CC was being overlapped by another parameter. This has been rectified by reassigning the MIDI CC to number 32.

sounds amazing
I really like this synth. Well could you make soms adjustments so I can use it on my M1 mini in Logic? Whauw!
Obxd vst nicely ported to ios
This synth has the characterics to make Oberheimesque pads and brass sounds.
Mr. Reales reshuffled the original knob layout, but its still Obxd.
Works great within my Aum mixer. I can only save patches in Aum, obxd itself containes no presets. Also, at the moment in standalone mode you can't save any patches:
an AU environment is obligatory.
When using a few instances, the HQ button can reduce the cpu hit quite a bit. I can use 4 instances with a chorus effect on my old ipad air 1th gen (A7 cpu). With HQ applied just 2 instances... Reducing the 8 voices to 4 or less eases the cpu, but I want that Ob sound, and up till now I only get that larger than life impression with 8 voices.
Voices detuning, osc. stereo panning and analoge randomizing knobs are the secret here.
Great option: choice between legato on filter adsr, vca adsr, or both (of course also retrigger mode).
Get yourself a copy of the pdf manual, and appreciate the effort mr. Reales put in this freeware synth.
Highly recommended.
