Orbot is the original free and open-source Tor-powered VPN for iOS and macOS. Orbot helps you access the internet with more safety and privacy, and no extra cost to you.
FEATURES:
- Browse the internet over Tor.
- Secure your traffic from insecure wireless networks and ISPs.
- Access .onion sites that are only accessible over Tor.
DISCLAIMERS:
- Web browsing is much slower than through a normal VPN because your traffic is encrypted and relayed through the Tor network.
- Orbot might not work on networks with advanced network restrictions. If the app does not connect, try using bridges (or a different type of bridge).
- Use of Orbot is at your own risk; remember that sensitive data does not always belong on a mobile device.

Slow and connection keeps dropping
Onion browser insists on this vpn because of security, so I was forced to use it. But after trying it out I can’t say I’m happy. The smart function doesn’t connect ever and the direct connection is slow
Can’t maintain connection, leaks traffic
Getting it to connect is a pain, it disconnects shortly after. Not only does it not work properly, it leaks traffic once it disconnects. I was able to view my own IP address in onion browser due to orbot disconnecting in the background. That’s absolutely unacceptable for something people rely on for their safety.
It should not have been released to the AppStore in its current form. It should be removed until it’s reliable and most importantly fails closed. No connection should mean no internet.
All traffic over tor, not a good idea
Downloaded this after tor browser required it. Once activate it seems all network traffic is routed over the Tor VPN that is activated.
It does not seem like a brilliant idea to route all your phones chatty traffic over Tor.
