Description

OsmAnd is an offline world map application based on OpenStreetMap (OSM), which allows you to navigate taking into account the preferred roads and vehicle dimensions. Plan routes based on inclines and record GPX tracks without an internet connection.
OsmAnd is an open source app. We do not collect user data and you decide what data the app will have access to.

Map view
• Choice of places to be displayed on the map: attractions, food, health and more;
• Search for places by address, name, coordinates, or category;
• Map styles for the convenience of different activities: touring view, nautical map, winter and ski, topographic, desert, off-road, and others;
• Shading relief and plug-in contour lines;
• Ability to overlay different sources of maps on top of each other;

GPS Navigation
• Plotting a route to a place without an Internet connection;

OSMand

Prima app met flinke leercurve. Ik gebruik deze app met carplay op motor. Dit kan nog verbeterd worden. Koers boven geeft problemen bij carplay.

Prima OpenStreetMap app!

Voor mij (pakketbezorger) een perfecte manier om de exacte locatie van huisadressen te vinden. Dat is nogal eens moeilijk in landelijke of bosrijke omgevingen. Met OsMand vind je elk huis of schuurtje!

Verder gebruik ik geen enkel andere functie van de app. Persoonlijke keuze ;-)

Al die functies maken echter meteen het nadeel van OsMand: het is een onoverzichtelijke berg van bij elkaar ontwikkelde opties en functies, waardoor de hele app rommelig en onduidelijk is. Instellingen zijn ongelooflijk moeilijk te vinden omdat ze her en der in de hele app verwerkt zijn.

Wens tot verbetering: 'Knijpen om te zoomen' gaat veel te gemakkelijk tegelijk met handmatige kaartrotatie. Bijna elke keer moet ik (na zoomen) op de kompasnaald tikken om 'het noorden boven' te krijgen.
Bij veel andere kaart-apps blijft de oriëntatie veel beter 'vast staan' op Noord boven.

We hebben plannen om het kompasgedrag te veranderen en een optie met vergrendelde kaartrotatie toe te voegen.

Opnieuw berekenen werkt niet

Sinds een aantal updates geleden werkt het opnieuw betekenen van een fietsroute, als je van je route afwijkt, niet meer. Dit maakt de app nogal zinloos en onbetrouwbaar om te gebruiken.
Op GitHub is te zien dat meerdere mensen hier last van hebben, de ontwikkelaar lijkt alleen geen interesse te hebben om het op te lossen.
