Description
PatientCoach consists of an app for patients and a web-application for professionals. PatientCoach enables obtaining outcomes directly from patients and in addition supports telemonitoring and self-management for patients with one or more chronic disorder. PatientCoach is developed for several clinical studies in the Netherlands for patients with asthma, COPD, hypertension, diabetes and/or obesity.
PatientCoach use is not freely available, but can only be used in conjunction with an existing patient account created by a professional for a specific project, see for more information at www.patientcoach.lumc.nl.
So far, this app can only be used in a study context, such as the RAPSODI register (Register of Adult Patients with Severe Asthma for Optimal DIsease management), a Dutch register of adult patients with severe asthma (https://www.rapsodiregister.nl/).

UX design
Ik gebruik deze app regelmatig voor deename onderzoek, maar stond op het punt te stoppen met de vrijwillige deename vanweze de slechte usability van de app.
Het gevoel bekruipt me dat deze app door alleen developers is ontwikkeld, maar zit zó onhandig, onlogisch en inconsistent qua gdbruikersgemak in elkaar dat het bijna amateuristisch is.
Advies: huur een UX designer in, desnoods van een ontwerpopleiding als opdracht, maar maak hem met de eindgebruiker als centraal uitgangspunt.
