You will stick with the app, and the 20$ is super worth the value

Too safe

Perplexity is a bit meddlesome at times. Reflecting general opinions or governmental "opinions' as safe informations, scientifically proven. But scientifically proven doesn't tell the whole story, the unproven. It also doesn't believe in the capability of self discernment of the reader.

The underlying LLM is particularly dumb

Scientist here: I’ve tested the knowledge but the system has a most unfortunate propensity to spew ‘folk wisdom’ as truth, even when research points to the opposite.
It has a tendency to use weasel words, even after it has conceded to be wrong.

I consider it dangerous, because the uneducated are more likely to turn to apps like these and will find their uncorroborated beliefs supported.
Not safe to use unless you have a rigorous education and a critical mind.

Good enough for menial chores, however.
