This game lacks.
For starters there is not good tutorial how to use stuff, like the springs or hydrolics.
Also it seems you cannot create a split joint in sandbox mode.
In game I had to accidentally found you have to zoom in on the split joint to see what stays connected and what not.

Please email support@drycactus.com with details on your device and we can help you out. To create split joints in sandbox there needs to be at least one hydraulics phase (which you can add via the Event Editor at the bottom of the screen). You can access the hydraulics tutorial via the Tutorials button on the Worlds UI. Adding a springs tutorial and showing how to zoom in to see split joint numbers are good suggestions.
