Solid and consistent
The Economist has been my source for world news analysis for over two decades. It managed to remain a professional and relevant despite the changes in the industry. The journalistic integrity is evident in well documented sources, clearly depicted opinion vs news pieces, and relevant historical context.
Terrible buggy slow app
As much as I find the content good and informative I have to be honest on how and is the app. It’s taking up to 1 min to open and so buggy and slow to play the Audio. If I want to switch to another article I know it’s gonna pain so I just gave up and let it go in order. Based on last year report economist group closed the year with 376 million in revenue. It really doesn’t take much of the revenue to fit this app. For love of god if u don’t know how to do it please reach out to me I am working in tech and I can make a much improved user experience in fractional of the cost. It’s been this bad for years now plz fix it
Annoying ad behavior, beneath The Economist
The advertisements open on an extremely light touch. Just swiping over it (not tapping it) opens the ad already, which as a result happens just about every article. It really is beneath the economist to have to earn their clicks and ad $ in such a weaselly, annoying way.
