Ratings and Reviews
Oud en vertrouwd
Game doet me denken aan Lands of Lore I.
Deepest RPG experience on iPhone yet
A short iTunes review can do this game no justice. A proper review as found for more traditional cRPGs on the PC would be required to describe in full detail the depth that this role-playing game provides.
If you are a fan of classics like Bethesda's Daggerfall or Ultima Underworld, this game should appeal. Contrary to other RPGs currently available in the App Store, like Arvale and Vay, The Quest caters more to the PC variety of role-playing games. At the start, you create a character, complete with race, class and major abilities. The process is similar to Morrowind's and Oblivion's, but admittedly less complex. The game itself is open-ended and offers a variety of different quests, spells, weapons, armour, enchantments and much more. The screenshots also do no real justice to the graphics in the game: on the iPhone and in motion they feel much more pleasant.
As a fan of cRPG games, I can recommend this for the iPhone.
P.S. My first App Store review, yay!
P.P.S. MeanMarine: when an enemy is near, the game switches to a turn-based system. That's what this "pause" is that you experienced. It's just the way the game is made. As for the price, what you're getting is a lot of content and 5,- isn't exactly a lot of money in the first place....
