New UNESCO sites have just been added! This update includes 26 newly inscribed sites, 2 extensions to existing sites, and 1 reformulated site. Tentative sites are now linked to their newly inscribed versions. If you previously marked a tentative site as visited but haven’t marked the official site yet, you’ll now see a reminder on your Home Screen. We have also updated the tentative sites! The previous update introduced a fresh UI and in depth tentative properties (new, inscribed, retracted). In this small update, we added a partial favourite status (if you favourite a sublocation, but not the main site, or vice-versa). Sorting by distance now properly takes into account filters. We’ve also implemented some general bug fixes and included coordinate and translation corrections. As always, thank you for your feedback!

This updates brings a fresh new UI, including a redesigned Home Screen and expandable sections in the heritage site list, making it easier to browse and access information. In anticipation of the upcoming UNESCO conference in July 2025: Tentative sites not have status updates, helping you track recent changes more easily: • Newly Added – Sites recently submitted to the tentative list. • Newly Inscribed – Sites that were tentative but have now become official World Heritage Sites. • Retracted – Sites that have been withdrawn by state parties. Note: “Newly Inscribed” and “Retracted” sites are no longer active tentative sites, but are shown for completeness. They won’t appear in the main tentative list unless you specifically filter for them. We’ve also corrected several site coordinates based on your feedback, thank you!

Tentative sites are finally here. This much requested feature allows you to see the tentative sites in the lists and on the map! Other changes: * Statistics has been expanded (two sections: inscribed/all statistics). * We added a user suggested random site feature! * Major back-end change: using Kotlin Multiplatform!

Bugfix:  iOS18 exposed a bug with the MultiPickers in the Filter screen. This is fixed by using a more native approach. Thank you to our users for catching this bug so quickly after the iOS release! Coordinate fix: Historic Monument of Ancient Kyoto was missing coordinates for its sub locations, even though there were official coordinates available. This has been fixed and all coordinates are shown on the map now. Again, thanks to our users for pointing this one out too!

Coordinate fixes for: van Nelle Fabriek and Koutammakou (which now properly reflects the extension last year). Please let me know if there are any other inaccuracies in the data!

- In light of the newly released iPads: the iPad version has had an overhaul and should look a lot better now. - A new full back-up functionality. Export your visited list and wish list to a special back-up file only compatible with the app. This can be very useful for making sure you will not lose your data and moving your lists to a new device (such as your iPad, if you want to look at the map on a bigger screen). - Filters (sites, categories, misc and regions) now allow for multi-selection. These work in disjunctive and conjunctive manners. For example, if you select the misc filter "Danger" as well as two category filters "Natural", "Cultural", you will get the list of sites that are in danger AND either Natural OR Cultural. - Other bug fixes and UI improvements!

Various coordinates have been corrected. Small UI improvements. An option to reset your visited list or wish list in settings (warning: cannot be undone). Enjoy the update!

This new update includes a change to the way visited statistics are counted, various UI improvements and coordinate fixes! A new way of counting a site as "visited": Before, to count a site towards the visited list, you had to either visit all sublocations or mark the entire site as visited. This could lead to some inconsistencies.
For example, visiting a sublocation of a heritage site in Austria, but not marking the whole site as completed would lead to the statistics page not counting Austria as visited. In this new version of the app, a site is counted as visited if at least one sublocation is visited. Partial visiting (with yellow symbols and colours) still works the same way. For transboundary sites, the counters are only updated when you have visited a sublocation in the relevant country. 
You can now mark sublocations as favourites/wished. This can be done in the map and in the sublocations overview. Note that marking a sublocation (but not the whole site) as favourite will not add the site to your wish list (currently, there is no support for “partial” favouriting). Minor changes: - The searchbar (in list view) and search filter (in map view) are now more efficient and also search the description of the heritage site. - Added support for sites in multiple regions - Various small UI changes, making the interface more responsive and smooth.
