Vivid allows users to double the brightness of their MacBook Pro and Pro Display XDR, system-wide!

The new MacBook Pros and the Pro Display XDR have displays that can go up to 1.600 nits of brightness. By default these levels of brightness can only be reached when watching HDR videos or by using Metal applications. Until now.

Vivid uses standard Apple APIs to allow users to make their screen more than two times brighter.

Supported devices:

- MacBook Pro with M1, M2, or M3 chip

Vivid can double the brightness of the Pro Display XDR when used on any non-Intel chip MacBook as well (including iMac and Macbook Air).

Please note: Vivid does not work with the Macbook Air display and does not work with Apple Studio display.

What’s New

Version 2.9

- Fixed an issue where for some users the colors were saturated. If you experience this, please turn on the HDR fallback in settings.

Found a free alternative

30 bucks for a basic tool is outrageous. Luckily there is an app called BrightIntosh which does the same and is completely free!

Developer Response ,

Open source alternatives are great, but we have spent 2 years making and improving Vivid and learning a lot about the many small problems that can happen. We also offer top tier support. You won’t get that with free software, so our price is fair and the product is best in its class.

way too expensive

There's no way that an app like this should be so expensive. this should costs 5 dollars at most, not 30.

Awful Ripoff Scheme

Instead of spending 29.99 for this crap, please do yourself a favour and spend just half 15$ on BetterDisplay Pro. It has more functionality.
