Doesn’t stay in sync

This would be a five star app if Apple didn’t limit the refresh rate and prevent live updating. As it is, most of the time it shows a different track than what’s playing in Music. It’s not the developers fault, just Apple being annoying.

I still use it sometimes to dislike and songs without having to open the Music app. Seems to be the only app (along with Marvis) that actually syncs dislikes back to the cloud.

Maybe time to rebuild it as a “classic” widget or expose the love/dislike functionality as a Shortcut action?

Beautiful, functional widget. 1 possible extra feauture

The app lets you create beautiful widgets that have a lot of functionality. Especially with the Spotify integration in the free version this app will meet the needs of most people looking for a music widget.

There are 2 things I would like to see in to future if possible 😇

1) Integration with more apps (podcast apps would be amazing!!). If possible I would love this widget to be my one stop shop for audio controls. I’m listening a lot to podcasts through Pocket Casts and having that integrate with the widget would be amazing!

2) The widget is sometimes a little slow to update after locking and unlocking my phone. It still shows the previous song while a new one has been playing for a bit.

Talking about your requests/feedback.

1. To support any service in WidgetPod, we need APIs from that service to read a user’s NowPlaying data, and not all services provide such an API, the only ones we know are Apple Music and Spotify that provide this API, and both have to be implemented separately, there’s no common way to integrate both. If iOS provided this information to us, it’d become easier and we could support all services automatically, but they don’t provide now-playing information and thus it becomes difficult for us and we shall integrate this for each service separately. And without APIs from each service we can’t integrate it.

2. For widgets to live update, you need to open the WidgetPod app once you start listening to music, the Widgets themselves cannot listen to events like changes in track. So, the app needs to listen to such events and update the widget. And the app cannot be active in background all the time, it only stays active if music is actively playing, so once you start listening you can simply open WidgetPod app for a moment and then come out, it should update your widgets live as long as music continues to play. If for any reason the widget still doesn’t update after following those steps, you can try restarting your device as there may be corruption in the link between WidgetPod and Spotify app which lets us transfer information.

Please add the app named “SoundCloud to your app.
It’s just better then Spotify and Apple Music,
and you’ll make me really happy and maybe

Thanks for requesting SoundCloud, but unfortunately SoundCloud doesn’t provide us with tools to read a user’s now playing information, this it isn’t possible to support it.
