XMenu adds one or more global menus to the right side of the menu bar. They give you access to your preferred applications, folders, documents, files, and text snippets. Launch any application with a single menu choice or insert text snippets into your documents. XMenu is a real app, no hack, no extension. And it's free.

Great productivity and running perfectly

Using XMenu to access disks and folders as well as apps and other shortcuts. The menu bar items can be defined as desired, so the options in the XMenu Preferences are suggestions and you are free to change them to suit your needs. Why I love this is that the shortcuts are spring-loaded directly from the menu bar and therefore always accessible. For example, I can go to and open literally any file on my MBA disk or (huge) NAS storage, directly from the menu bar whithout a single click, by just following the path. Same goes for all my apps and any shorcuts which I grouped into a sort of START button on the Menu Bar. Absolutely love this.

Tiny remark

Good product, one small remark: interface language on my Macs is set to Dutch. This means all the standard apps get Dutch names in Finder. When using Xmenu for an apps menu, it shows the 'original' English application titles. That can be a bit confusing. Haven't found a setting to change that behaviour.
