Fixes in 1.2:

• Various bugfixes and stability improvements.
• Note: If your spotting locations have been blank since the last app update, simply reinstall CloudSpotter. It's a permissions issue that can't be fixed any other way.

Great app - some functions could be added

Overall great app for cloudspotters with descriptions on many cloud types and light phenomenas. However, I do wish they could improve the app by allowing the following:

- Allow the captured photos to be temporarily saved. I have been in situations where I have spotted several cloud and/or light phenonemas simultaneously. As a novice cloudspotter I do sometimes need some time figuring out what cloud type I am spotting, and by the time I have figured it out the other spotted phenomena might have disappeared.

- Allow access to more photos in CloudStream. Not many photos are shown in CloudStream, and if you do not view these on a regular basis you miss the chance to view many great cloud spottings.

- Allow searches by cloud type or light phenomena in CloudStream. I would love to see, for example, all photos of Kelvin-Helmholtz added by the cloudspotters. If no such photos have been added to CloudStream recently you are restricted to the six photos shown in Cloud Library.

The following improvements are welcomed although less important than those above.

- Allow searches by profile name. I wish I could see the clouds spotted by friends and acquaintances by simply doing a profile search. Included in their profile I would love to see their added photos as well as their ranking and the number stars and badges collected.

- I would also like to see the photos added by the top cloudspotters in the CloudSpotter Rankings by clicking on their profile names.

Great app!

Just think: a cloud dictionary of 40 different types of cloud and light phenomena, with photos and full descriptions, a game, a teaching aid, all in your pocket when you are walking about, wondering what is going on up there.
And that is not all: thanks to modern magic, you can use your iPhone’s camera to capture what you see, and then upload it to a team of real-people cloud experts to have it verified, and earn yourself CloudSpotter Stars and Achievements. Fun!

After some teething problems on my iPhone 4S, the 1.0.2 update fixed these. and I am happy cloudspotting.

Looking forward to next promised update, when I will be able to delete photos, before uploading, and also be able to use the camera zoom function.

A great app, fun to use!
5 stars for the idea, and great implementation
