Hero Wars: Alliance 12+

Ok, there might be a few who pay their way to glory, but it's really fun to play none the less!

Edit: Well, I've succumbed to paying for glory as well, I guess I like it that much..

Edit: Still playing, but paying less now, in it for the haul

Edit: two (?) Months in, now a guild master, same thoroughly invested in the game. My wife complains, and my kids are forgetting me but I will master this! 😝

Edit: So what's up with the edits? Well, the game rewards you quite handsomely for a write-up, and the reward comes in handy while playing. So now I'm level 113 of 120, soon I'll be able to play with my kids again

Edit: pulling back a little, established among top 100 players on server, feeling pretty good. It's a expensive game of you want to stay on top.

Edit: chose to leave my guild for a new co-op, still fun, but using less 💲💲these days, fortunately. Among top 50 players on server

Edit: in gold league, discovered cross server tournaments, and have heroes about to enter endgame scenarios. The game keeps changing, and staying interesting. It's still pay to win, but what isn't?

Edit: maintaining place in gold, still months off a real endgame possibility. Less 💲more patience.

Edit: taking part in mergers of guilds, consolidating alliances, getting ever stronger and smarter!

Edit: our guild has settled in fourth, the server is quite drama free, lot of good battles. Good times

Edit: lots of buzz on server about new update. Game has gotten a bit unstable after moving to new game engine, so a little annoyed about that, otherwise good times!

Edit: bugs are getting fixed, but game still a little unstable. Trying to limit spending to a minimum, but there is no two ways about it: staying on top in this game is expensive!

Edit: still cutting down on spending, but staying active. Being on an old server means we get people moving in quite frequently, but no new team has managed to usurp the status quo in top four teams so far.

I was looking for a simple game to kill time. This seemed fun when I saw it on FB.

It is not.

The first 15 minutes it seems to be a story. Your hero levels up a couple of times, gets some companions and you start to understand the dynamics and gameplay - which is: You can push some buttons every once in a while. You don’t have to, you win either way, but I suppose it let’s you feel like you are playing a game.

When you have finished the first two chapters there is nothing new.
You just push some buttons every once in a while. If there is a level you cannot beat, you just go to your collection of heroes and push some other buttons.
There’s gold, gems, sparks and a hoard of other currencies for all sorts of bells and whistles.
And nothing is ever explained. There’s just a lot of bling. No lore, no story and it doesn’t even seem to be a goal to this game. It’s just the same. Over and over.

After a while your progress is restricted by a VIP-level demand. You have to pay to have any hope of progress.

Most stupid thing:
After battles you get some gold, sometimes loot and experience.
But you also get experience as reward for other taskes. Liquid experience in surplus! Subtracting battle-experience my heroes could all reach max level four times over with the liquid experience potions av have collected.

TL:DR
Play candy crush instead.
