The 1971 reference of the iMini was made famous by artists and bands such as Stevie Wonder, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Keith Emerson, Devo, Jean Michel Jarre and more. We brought the features and sound of this classic to the iOS platform! iMini not only recreates the look and feel of the most legendary synthesizer, it does it with unparalleled sound quality. iMini is based on the award winning Arturia Mini V software that was created in partnership with Dr. Robert Moog himself, back in 2003. Thanks to this heritage, continuous research and refinements over the years, iMini comes with amazing sound quality and a large collection of preset sounds created by top sound designers such as Klaus Schulze (Tangerine Dream) and Geoff Downes (Asia).
You can play iMini’s numerous sounds from the iPad keyboard. You can create your own sounds and start building your personal sound palette.
If you are an owner of the Arturia Mini V software on your Mac or PC, you can import and export sounds between your laptop or desktop Mini V and iMini.
You can also control iMini from a MIDI keyboard via CoreMIDI and integrate it into your studio or live performances.
iMini is a Tabletop Ready app. The connect menu allows you to connect iMini to the Retronyms Tabletop app, giving you an integration with a complete studio environment. You can use multiple instances of iMini; record your performance into a real-time sequencer; automate any of the parameters; add effects; process other modules through the iMini filters, and more. Tabletop also features add-ons for more effects and instruments from other 3rd party companies.

You want a Mini Moog?
I have all the Moog synths, being an avid ELP fan :) You want a Mini Moog? Look no further. The sounds are deep and awesome. The layout of the synth is a true copy of the original. This is one of my all time favourite apps... for this price, you get a ticket into the musical heaven :)
Ok, so it's monophonic in Tabletop. But for bass lines or solos, that's all you need, right? (I'll try and see how many iMinis I can put on the table, before cpu buckles:) You can always copy/paste, and layer it till kingdom comes, in a DAW on the iPad or computer. (If you find that cumbersome, google "Switched-On Bach", and read about how that album was recorded;)
I really love how this synth sounds. Rich textures. I think it's versatile, and the presets are good, although some of them sound almost the same. But that's maybe for the buyer, to discover the subtle depth of the synth.
Arturia have put a lot of effort into the graphics of this app, which I appreciate. It takes full advantage of the retina display. The wood panel even has scratches to make it look old and worn. Colour me charmed!
A lot of interesting FX possibilities with the white/pink noise. Some of which reminds me a lot of some of the woooosh-sounds of Jarre. If you like to delve into pure noise-pleasure, this is the thing for you.
The more I play around with this app, the more I realize its potential.
Did I mention how I love how it sounds?
The description fails to mention that it only plays polyphonic as a standalone app. In Tabletop its MONOPHONIC, which is kind of a big deal. 👎
