Easy to play and depth to learn more

Resource and time management is important. Personally I don't play offensively against other players, just the NPC's like passive villages or guarded pirate camps. Once resources get scarce compared with demand from upgrades, you can trade excess resources for game credits, so you can obtain resources that you need. There are multiple side-quests as well. Easy to enjoy from the first minute, and complex enough to keep you going.
