Perfect on mobile
Huge fan of the layton series and the gameplay works well on mobile. Bring them all
From an Old Layton Fan
The game starts of similar to other Layton games by showing you some sort of mysterious event that often has a main question. Here that question would be "Where is Prof. Layton?". You also have questions as for instance: "Why did he leave, who's the mother" etc.
Thus, you would think the game would develop around that question as in other well-constructed Layton game. NO. None of these questions are ever mentioned or hinted at in any way throughout the entire game.
Early on we meet a dog that can TALK. Suddenly we have this dog come into the picture. The dog recruits Laytons daughter, which makes it her first case to find out who the dog is and how he can speak human. Then suddenly something else pops up taking the attention away from the dogs case.
Guess what. It is never brought up again. Do you see a pattern?
This was in my mind throughout the entire time I played the game.
My conclusion is that I find it sad that this is a part of the layton franshice. While it is VERY obvious that this game is marketed towards a much younger age group. Regardless I still find the game to be a huge letdown.
I truely wish that if there ever is another Layton game it will stay true to everything all the other games and the stories and attatchment that were made.
