What can Mia Health do for you?

1. UNDERSTAND THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR YOU
The Mia Health App uses PAI to measure your activity. PAI is short for Personal Activity Intelligence. You earn PAI every time your heart rate increases, no matter which type of physical activity you choose to do. Research from the Nobel Prize winning Faculty of Medicine and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) shows that those who stay at or above 100 PAI have markedly lower risk of lifestyle diseases such as a heart attack, dementia and obesity.

2. GET A HEALTH STATUS BASED ON YOUR CURRENT ACTIVITY LEVEL
The Mia Health app can give you the status of your physical fitness by estimating your VO₂ max and fitness age.

Your VO₂ max is one of the best indicators of your overall health. Mia Health estimates VO₂ max with NTNU's validated Fitness Calculator and uses artificial intelligence and PAI score to update your VO₂ max over time.

Your fitness age is calculated from your VO₂ max to let you know how old your body is. The lower your fitness age, the more protected you are from developing lifestyle diseases such as heart attack, depression, dementia, and several types of cancer.

3. PLAN THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ACTIVITY YOU NEED TO DO TO ACHIEVE THE DESIRED HEALTH EFFECT
The Mia health app helps you plan your activity in terms of duration and intensity. You can decide whether to increase your activity effort, go for a moderate routine instead, or choose to have a recovery day.

4. GET PERSONALIZED HEALTH PREDICTIONS
The Mia Health App motivates users to reach their goals by showing them their activity effort translated into fitness age and VO₂ max predictions 90 days in the future. In addition, it suggests what the future would look like if you were to improve your activity habits. The app can give you a prognosis after a few weeks of usage and learning your activity patterns.

NOTES:

The Mia Health App includes an open version with limited functionality and a version with extra features available only to Mia Health’s partners. In the open version, users can understand the right amount of physical activity for them by having access to PAI and manual registration. The full version gives our partners free access to the rest of the functionalities, such as health analysis, history, planning physical activity, and predictions.

The Mia Health App does not provide any medical diagnosis or treatment advice. Our Terms also clearly state we are not a diagnostic tool in any way, only providing insight and understanding about physical activity and lifestyle. The Mia Health App supports data import from multiple wearables both via Health Kit and directly from Garmin, Fitbit and Polar.

Viser den riktig kondisjonsalder?

Hei.

Mann 59år. På min Garmin Fenix 7 viser den en kondisjonsalder på 55år. På Mia viser den 47år. Har brukt begge et års tid. Mia viste en stund det samme som Garmin, men i det siste halvåret har den krøpet ned til 47. En av de vil jeg tro er feil. Heller mest til at Garmin viser mest riktig, men hvordan finner jeg ut av hvilken jeg kan stole på?

Godt spørsmål! Garmin benytter amerikanske referansedata i sine beregninger av VO2maks og kondisjonsalder, mens Mia Health bruker forskningsdata fra HUNT-studien (Helseundersøkelsen i Trøndelag) ved NTNU. Jeg har dessverre ingen inngående kunnskap om Garmin sine estimater utover dette. Våre estimater for disse verdiene kan anses å være mer representable for en norsk befolkning, da datagrunnlaget er hentet fra samme populasjon.



Dine verdier for VO2maks og kondisjonsalder baseres i første omgang på datamateriale fra HUNT-studien utført ved NTNU hvor din da estimerte VO2maks og kondisjonsalder baseres på hva andre med samme høyde, vekt, kjønn og treningsvaner faktisk har målt gjennom blant annet objektive VO2maks-tester i denne studien. Svarene du ga da du opprettet brukerkontoen din sjekkes opp mot hva deltakere med samme svar i denne studien faktisk målte i VO2maks, som igjen danner grunnlag for utgangspunktet ditt for disse estimatene. Etter dette utgangspunktet har blitt satt, justeres både kondisjonsalder og VO2maks kontinuerlig basert på aktivitetsnivået ditt, og vil derfor bli mer presist jo mer data du overfører til Mia Health.

Det er et godt spørsmål. Vi støtter per nå ikke familiedeling. Mia Health er i en fase hvor vi fortsatt utvikler produktet vårt. Familiedeling i en eller annen form står på lista over ting vi ønsker å tilby, men det vil nok ta en god stund før vi har på plass løsninger for dette.
