Description

NAVTEX Pad lets you view NAVTEX and Radio Teletype (RTTY) marine weather transmissions on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. Just set it near a radio (or for better quality decoding, connect a cable from the radio's audio output jack to the microphone jack), tune in a NAVTEX frequency (usually 518 kHz), and watch the transmissions.

NAVTEX weather and marine safety messages are transmitted from dozens of sites around the world. Now you can display these messages without buying a dedicated NAVTEX receiver.

Both BAUDOT and ASCII RTTY can also be decoded. The shift and baud can can be selected from the standard values.

You can also save your received text to view later, or transfer to your computer via iTunes.

Schedules of upcoming NAVTEX transmissions are available within the app, so you'll never miss one.

Still to difficult

It is difficult to find a radio with the right frquencies. Ordinary AM is not low enough.

The times for transmit is easy to forget and you wil use the pad for other things when transmissions come from the station of choise. Best for Navtex is to let it be on all the time. Usless with an ipad.
I find this app useless on a boat.

App has potential, but do not work!

Using my iPad for recieving NAVTEX or other HF sent information is very interesting, but this app can't read anything. Good signal at 59+20 db and non of them is recived at all. No help to find out whats wrong. Black Cat System have a lot of apps, but I wont by no more if they don'nt bother to make them work. I use an Kenwood TS 850 SAT and a great HAM antenna, but no resoult.

Please upgrade these apps and we will by them all!
