Version 3.3

Implemented a new side navigation menu for iPad along with a number of small improvements and bug fixes:

• Reduced app backup sizes by 10x.
• Updated widgets to fully support iOS 18’s tint mode.
• Changed default skip durations in the podcast player to 15 and 30 seconds for rewind and fast forward respectively.
• Fixed a bug where the playback speed indicator was not updating correctly between videos.
• Fixed a video player crash that could occur when voice over was enabled.

Great app

Love the content and the mission

The new, friendly YouTube

No ads or interruptions (so far).
Not shoving fanatical or disappointing clickbait down your throat.

Content is amazing, the app needs improvement

Love the content and the mission, that’s why I give it 5 starts anyway, but the app lacks many features.

In interfaces design there’s a thing called "call to action". I’m lacking that after the end of any video. You only see other videos from the same channel, but no other similar potential recommendations. Also, there’s no way to see all of the latest videos from all the creators I’m following mixed together. You have to go one by one. In my opinion this should be the main page actually: landing page with your subscriptions only, and a Discover page with videos from other creators related to my subscriptions and maybe some random too.

Another detail I miss is interaction with the creators: comments, maybe, but not totally sure. But a thumbs up button should be there to show some appreciation to the creator. Being used to YouTube I feel like I need to react to the video.

But anyway, I love the initiative and I’ll keep using it no matter what
