**Offline maps**
Norgeskart allows you to download any area to be viewed while offline. Simply zoom into your favourite area and click the "download" button in the bottom left corner. Norgeskart will download the area that is currently on your screen. You will be able to name your dowloaded areas, so you can easily organise them.

Ok maps, but offline service is poor

The maps are good. Based on Statens Kartverk I would expect no less. However, the offline service, which you have to pay monthly for, is awful. You can only download pre-set chunks of the map, that are relatively small area wise, and it’s fairly common that if you have a hike from A to B, to need two different offline map chunks which is an awful experience. If you want to have just a standard large offline map of your entire local area, it isn’t possible but instead you have to download a ton of chunks. Not a fan, and I regret paying for the service.

If you don’t need the offline service, sure it’s ok, again: the maps are Statens Kartverk, which are great but it’s not worth paying 20kr/month for.
