Description

TAB News is a weekly publication featuring current news and information about matters of faith from a Christian perspective.

Part of a robust media group, TAB News is the latest product released by TAB Media.

The staff of TAB Media strives to produce content and resources that help strengthen and build up those who believe in and follow Jesus Christ while maintaining the strictest of journalism ethics in their reporting efforts.

Staff members work from several states and bring a variety of life experiences to the table. They understand that believers who are growing spiritually, learning to create margin in their daily lives and finding healthy ways to deal with difficult life issues are better able to consistently and energetically share Christ and make disciples.

The flagship publication of TAB Media — The Alabama Baptist newspaper — has been in continuous publication since Feb. 4, 1843, and has won hundreds of national awards in recent years.

While The Alabama Baptist focuses primarily on stories out of Alabama, TAB News provides broader coverage, including coverage from across the nation and around the world.

The Alabama Baptist is available in print and digital formats while TAB News currently exists solely as an enhanced digital publication. Both are served up each week through individual subscriptions, and group discounts are available. For more information, visit tabonline.org/subscribe.

Along with the two weekly publications, TAB Media provides daily email newsletters featuring various highlights and updated news and information. Breaking news is reported online at tabonline.org, which also has more than 40,000 articles from previous publications archived, a Business & Ministry Directory, and a variety of other resources.

TAB Media also maintains an active social media presence through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn and produces three weekly podcasts, one of which is the audio version of the weekly publication. The TAB News podcast releases each Wednesday.

TAB Talks is released every Monday morning with co-hosts interviewing a guest or guests about a relevant topic. The relaxed conversation-style show also airs on WXJC 101.1 FM/850 AM in Birmingham, Alabama, every Saturday at 2 p.m.

TAB Briefs airs Fridays at noon and features three current faith-based news and culture stories. The recording of this brief news coverage also airs Friday mornings at 8:45 on Facebook Live.

A fourth podcast is released seasonally — TAB Stories — and offers a long-form, in-depth feature in the life of a specific person, church or ministry.

TAB Media podcasts are found anywhere you get your podcasts or at tabonline.org/podcasts.

Another area being developed for consistent and unique coverage is the TAB Media Group YouTube channel. There you’ll find enhancements to current articles, video interviews of the podcast discussions and practical resources on specific topics.

TAB Media strives to produce factual, trustworthy content with no slants toward personal agendas. We do filter all we do through a Christian lens and are committed to valuing all people. We encourage civil discourse that allows for a variety of opinions to be shared in a calm, respectful discussion. We invite everyone to pull up a seat at the table and have the difficult conversations.

TAB Media is funded through subscriptions, advertising, donations and contributions from Alabama Baptists through the Cooperative Program. Cooperative Program funding allows TAB Media to keep subscription prices at cost-recovery amounts, especially for churches providing the publication for their members.

A 16-member board of directors oversees TAB Media/The Alabama Baptist, Inc., which is managed by a president and editor-in-chief. Currently tasked with that position is Jennifer Davis Rash, who has been in the role since Jan. 1, 2019, and part of the TAB Media team since Jan. 1, 1996.
