ScreenFlow 10

View

Whether you’re creating a video podcast, a screencast for work or a how-to for YouTube, ScreenFlow is the tool you need. A complete environment for capturing, editing, exporting and publishing professional-looking videos, ScreenFlow makes it easy to record video from screens and cameras and add voice-over audio.

But ScreenFlow really shines when it comes time to edit your video. Just drag and drop clips, still images and audio to add and rearrange them, and easily split clips and incorporate effects and transitions. Working on a series of videos? Create templates and styles for consistent intros, graphics, object treatments and outros.

The ScreenFlow project window shows your timeline, tools and video preview.

The app’s ProRes proxy feature lets you edit resource-intensive 4K videos quickly, and the latest version, optimised for Mac with the Apple M1 chip, uses less of your CPU than ever while accelerating video export by up to 66 per cent.

Although ScreenFlow is powerful and versatile, its gentle learning curve lets you start creating videos in just minutes. Here are a few of the most useful features for making your screencasts shine.

Focus and inform

ScreenFlow includes a number of screencast-specific tools: include callouts, text overlays and closed captions; pan and zoom; and adjust the size, colour, blur and duration of animations that make it obvious where you click or tap on the screen.

Pre-clip your clips

Don’t need all of a clip? Double-click it to open it in a separate editing window; choose only the section you want, then click the plus sign to add the edited version to your timeline.

The new clip-editing tool (left) lets you make tweaks to a clip before adding it to your project’s timeline.

Perfect your style

Give your videos a unique and professional look with customisable colour effects and adjustments; blur and sharpen effects; stylistic filters; and support for CUBE lookup tables that you create in other video and photo apps.

Get some screen time

Want to cut from your screencast to a shot of yourself speaking? Film yourself within ScreenFlow using the camera in your Mac or iPhone. The machine-learning-powered Background Removal filter lets you replace your background with a solid colour, still frame or video – even if you aren’t using a green screen.

Record everything

Record from multiple screens, video cameras, microphones, your iPhone and iPad or all of your devices simultaneously – if it’s connected to your computer, you can record it. And ScreenFlow records the audio from each app and input as a separate track, making it easy to fix audio issues in post.

Stock up

Don’t limit yourself to what’s on your computer. ScreenFlow offers access to a stock media library of more than 500,000 images, audio clips and videos. And the built-in library of title templates makes it easy to create and customise animated titles and lower thirds.

Share with ease

When you’ve finished editing, leverage ScreenFlow’s wide range of export options to optimise your video for different platforms and formats (Instagram, iOS app previews, Apple TV or animated GIFs, for example). You can also publish videos directly to YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox and other services with a few clicks.
