Description
The application uses local WIFI network to connect to audio server provided by event organizers. The server offers a number of user labeled audio channels, which can range from individual band instruments, different language translators, main speaker, guest speakers, main mix etc... Upon selecting the desired channel combinations (private mix), the audio will be streamed live to the iPhone/iPad. The 5G based WIFI provides low latency down to 20ms on iPhones and is suitable for "In Ear Monitoring" applications; for example band members or as an aid to hearing impaired or older persons. The audio servers WIFI network does not provides modest internet connectivity. The 2.4GHz network has a longer range and can handle more users, but latency can be up to 100ms and is not suitable for In Ear Monitoring applications. The 200ms latency of 2.4GHz is still very suitable for simultaneous translation. Multiple translation languages can be made available from the server with centrally monitored production quality. This service is provided free of charge on our venues.
