But what it doesn’t do...

Okay, the app is great, it tells me where I’m at - actually it’s confirming where I believe I am. That’s great... and to a degree it alerts me to offers and discount days but really the direct alerts get my attention faster.

So all good but my issue is one it doesn’t help with... the weak link in the chain is the operator in gas stations who ‘mishears’ your request to save and cashes in your accumulated cents on a $40 purchase.

Why can’t I as a user opt to scan my card via my phone having already instructed save?

That is, give me the power when to redeem- don’t make me dependent on busy gas station workers. Let me decide

This is a critical fix for high mileage users. Don’t make me go looking for alternative providers who deliver every fill with consistently lower prices feed my need to feel I’m getting an edge

They’re lying about the surveys

I got a notification today saying something like ‘do these surveys and get discounts’. Thought I’d give it a whirl.

Went through the onboarding process where they share my data, then ask me how old I am, my gender, where I live etc. Annoying but fine.

Now I can do a survey to earn 2c off per litre. Ok… not much, but let’s see there this goes. More annoyingly, survey couldn’t remember anything I just told them, and asked me all the same questions again (gender, age etc.), then a bunch of questions about toy companies. Took a while, was clunky, but ok.

My ‘reward’ - I don’t qualify for the discount.

Waste of time and misleading. Moral of the story: don’t bother doing the surveys.

Doesn’t work with AA membership card

Hopeless. It worked with a onecard from the supermarket but doesn’t work with the card for a premium aa membership, it asks for a 4 digit number at the back of the card - where none is listed. I called support about this and they couldn’t help. Your devs might want to consider some basic testing before releasing an app that doesn’t connect to their aa membership card!

Hi Nick, AA Membership cards are already registered for AA Smartfuel and so shouldn't require you to input the security code (used for registration), instead should send you a verification code to your nominated mobile/email address to sign in with.
