TV app lacks search functionality
The acron platform has some great shows that you can’t stream elsewhere which is awesome. However, the TV app on my Apple TV for Acorn does not have search function, and the sort alphabetically doesn’t work. This is extremely frustrating when trying to find a show. Please fix this, the app on my phone has a search function. This really should be a primary foundational functionality across all app platforms for a streaming service that charges a monthly fee.
Love the content, meh the app
I’m a big fan of Acorn TV and really enjoy it. But the app keeps prompting me multiple times when watching that there is no wifi and so I want to continue streming with data. But I have a solid wifi connection. Netflix works and safari works fine without any issues. And the wifi connection not switch in the app settings does not move at all. iPhone 12 with iOS 14.
Recommended, but Room for Improvement
We're all spoiled by great apps these days - this app falls a little short of the mark. A great and growing, collection of content. We always find something great to watch. The player is a bit behind the times, is lacking and a little buggy, prone to random stopping when using airplay. Asks me about WiFi mid streaming even though my WiFi is fine. Scrubbing through video can be hit and miss.
