Afterpay: Shop Smarter‪.‬ 4+

I agree with the idea too many pay later companies can put you more into debt. Afterpay is my main go to - it covers majority of the outlets I usually shop at and has exposed me to some that I wouldn’t have thought of shopping at. Afterpay was my first experience to this type of payment option and I’ve since closed all others because I have NEVER had an issue. When it comes to refunds Afterpay let’s me know before the store does e.g. were out of stock. The app is user friendly and I love that I get the option for quick checkout through quick sign in. I was even allowed to get to checkout of after pay when shopping a USA store with Afterpay not sure when that became a thing but OMG if that were possible but usually it says account doesn’t exist when I previously tried with a AUS store. For me I don’t mess with it if it ain’t broken Afterpay has a decent limit, option to shop in store and online yes. It means I can just take my phone with me without having my card. It also allows me to purchase items like a new Apple Pencil that I lost that morning but didn’t have my card on the go. Changing cards has been easy as long as I don’t have active payments due. Main reasons Afterpay - stores available to buy from, payment schedule (i get paid every two weeks so works for my pay), app available and user friendly , in store and online options and limit is pretty good!!

Being able to get the things that you not only NEED but of course the things that you WANT without paying it all in one lump sum is awesome especially for people like me who can’t afford to pay for things straight away... and it’s great that you get your purchase straight away while still paying it off is the best...
Obviously beware of your spending habits and if you can’t actually afford to make the repayments every fortnight then think before you spend..
I’m amazing at paying things off and knowing exactly how much I can afford each week. If you’re not like that then you could find yourself in trouble... enjoy it but be careful 😊💜

My partner’s card is suspended by the bank as she is expecting a new card. So she is trying to use my card to pay for her upcoming Afterpay order. Afterpay didn’t allow it as the card is already bonded with my own account. So I tried to remove it as the instructions per the Afterpay website, I can’t find the remove button… Turns out that I have to remove the card from preferred cards to remove it… Then I hit the remove button, it says I need to zero orders linking to this card to remove it. I do not have a single order for any cards for months!

So decision is made, I closed my account with Afterpay today. I can see what they are trying to do. They try to keep every one of your card registered with their app so the way to spending money is always within your arms length. A typical trap of overspending.

Your greediness makes me gross Afterpay. There is always some money you shouldn’t touch. So bye bye and hope I will never see you again.
