I come from Ngāmotu (New Plymouth), Aotearoa (New Zealand). To be connected to the world via Aljazeera grounds me every day.
You report on grin events, thought-provoking intersections and confluences, and reminders there are others in “far flung” places. You do so in ways that give hope that people- and planet-focused governance will be achieved, and that local and appropriate decision-making is effective and to be valued.
You’re also important to decolonisation. Your focus on the Global South and amplification of Indigenous Peoples just makes me think and say right on. As Tangata Whenua my spirit is lifted when I see and hear other Indigenous Peoples.
It is my hope your coverage focuses more on the Pacific given the existential crises of climate collapse and a new wave of colonisation thinly veiled as “regional security”.

I live far from Europe but am very worried about the state of our world. I check this news source every day. It is always up to date independant and about the right amount of detail. While I do check other suppliers as well, this my preferred source
