Artisan guides build teams to gather photographic evidence of building code compliance and workmanship on the job as they go. Completed ‘shot lists’ are submitted via the mobile app to Building Consent Authorities (BCAs) for ‘virtual inspection’ on the web console.
Artisan provides a comprehensive workflow for remote inspection assessment for BCA’s & building participants. The smartphone and web console integrated solution enables everyone involved in the build process to view progress of the build against a ‘shot list’ specific to that project.
Using the phone’s photo functions, the build team will be able to complete the shot list and record and see details of the build process in ‘real time’. Importantly, the tool will have very real benefits for everyone involved:
• For the build team, the tool will provide proof that they have delivered quality, every step of the way and ready access to shared problem solving throughout the build. It will also offer an efficient and effective way to showcase a job well done.

Ultimately, this tool has the power to influence a step change in the way the NZ construction industry approaches build quality. It will also provide a data set that can be used to support the industry to develop better work practices and ways to improve the quality of workmanship. In turn, encouraging better building results and instilling greater public confidence in the sector.
