Ratings and Reviews
Good App
When the Hangout notifications is received you go into the app but nothing is there, this if you can replicate would be good to have improved. Other than that i think this is a great platform and concept.
They charged me for a subscription I didn’t want
I used couchsurfing a year ago a handful of times. Apparently when I purchased the membership it was set to auto renew a year later but I didn’t notice this.
I haven’t used this app and not planning to do so in the future. Just received a charge for the yearly membership even though I have no intention of using this app. I informed customer support to see if I could get a refund but they have declined it.
With other yearly subscriptions when I got charged by surprise I always got a refund, but not in this case.
Seems like their business model consists on charging people without them noticing.
Oh, and before charging for the yearly membership maybe it would be helpful to send an email beforehand to customers so they are aware of this and they can make a decision. But I guess their whole business model would go down.
Amazing Idea, Bad Interface
I’ve been on couchsurfing already a while and made wonderful friendships around the whole world. Unfortunately the app itself isn’t up to date and a bit buggy. Here are some things that would be awesome to improve:
- Better algorithmic for finding hosts
- False message notifications/badges and many other bugs
- Many dating related adds (as seen on other phones aswell). Makes the app seem like a dating app, what’s really annoying
