I have a toxic relationship with this app, it bugs out on some days & some days it treats me as if I’m the only person in the world capable of loving. I don’t know if I like it or not but I guess I’d rather talk about the bits where it made me feel like I’m the only person in the world rather than dwelling on the days that it didn’t.Anyway, there’s my review about this app. It’s still good but I don’t know. Sometimes Crunchyroll is my 13th reason, other times it’s the reason I still exist.

Until a year ago I was appalled by just how badly Crunchyroll treated its subscribers. For 2 years in a row prices where increased and yet the broken promises kept coming. Management had put a total freeze on technology investment and it showed. However, I imagine as part of their major push to maximise their sale price to Sony, finally that much needed technology investment went ahead. We got a brand new app for all platforms. The website is currently in beta testing with US customers and overall feedback has been positive. The only last major embarrassment is there continual avoidance of the worst piece of c..p app I’ve ever used - the Crunchyroll Manga app. The only way it works is to install it, use it once then it’s broken, so u have to delete and reinstall it. As for content, now that’s where things have had a huge & I mean huge push. Crunchyroll had always been famous for having the most simulcasts each season (at one point it was 50 shows!) but now ore still a respectable 30-40 shows except now the number of dubbed shows has skyrocketed. Not only that they now dub in languages other than English (totally awesome move) - there’s Russian, German, Italian, Spanish, French, and more to come for sure. Nice those countries finally being cared about by the big players in anime. Maybe Netflix helped that shift but still Crunchyroll followed and it’s brilliant. BTW in my opinion the subscription is so worth it but not everyone agrees with me on that. If you can handle a free adverts then Crunchyroll’s 800+ library of anime series and movies is a real score (plus you don’t have to worry about malware & viruses like u do watching on pirated anime streaming sites, let alone the fact that the creators of anime need that revenue to get paid. Hopefully one day perhaps they’ll actually be paid properly unlike now.

I just downloaded crunchyroll, excited to watch anime when all of a sudden it says “Dang, We cant connect to crunchyroll” or something like that. I checked my internet and it was fine. I turned the internet off then on but nothing worked. I even restarted my phone and re-downloaded the app but nothing worked. I went to my laptop to see but same thing happened. What is happening crunchyroll?! Is your website or app down for the moment?! Im so confused! For the mean time, im going to watch anime on animelab until this problem gets fixed. Please Fix it crunchyroll or idk if its just my phone and internet.

So I was just watching some anime (duh) and then an add starting to roll up. The thing is that it would pause the whole thing and the add, so I’d press un-pause and I hear the audio but I’m still stuck on the paused ad screen. So then I un-pause the ad, then watch the ad. Then after I watch the add, it just keeps on loading and loading. It has nothing to do with my wifi, as it’s doing completely fine right now and I haven’t had any problems with it lately. The show I was watching was Laid-Back Camp, Season 2, Episode 1, if it just has to do with that show in particular. I have also re-opened and closed the app many times and it still is happening.
