Great, but (agree with another reviewer)
This game is addictive. However it is annoying that when you are given a theme or brief of what the client wants, such as a tropical space or contemporary, many of the top scorers are using lux or traditional stylings. Lots of OTT monochromic designs getting five stars that look silly. Lots of nice designs too.
I play this game a lot and am spending lots of real money on virtual furniture. Probably says a lot more about me than the game. However after a couple of disappointing top scorers rooms I doubt very much I’ll play much more as I am sticking to brief, producing nice rooms that actually work (and getting 4.+) but it’s not enough of a draw.
Also I don’t believe our votes actually count. It actually looks like a computer algorithm that factors in a specific colour (usually in the background) and a specific item. The rooms end up being so one-dimensional. It’s actually hard to keep wanting to design a beautiful room and needing affirmation for a high score. At the moment it’s either turquoise or black, white and red. Boring.
Some improvements would be beneficial
This is an addictive design app however there is plenty of room for improvement especially where the judging is concerned. Each challenge to design a room is given a brief however judging is done by the players and appears to be based on room presentation and or look as opposed to whether the player has followed the actual brief.
The base room colours to work with are terrible, think bright blue, red, pink and each brief requires the player to purchase certain types of furniture which often don’t fit the brief or go with the existing decor.
The player can search for categories of furnishings. This could be improved by allowing the player to search a certain price range and also shapes such as a round rug or a square table. Also there does not appear to be any mirrors to purchase. Mirrors would be useful for wall decorating
Great, but...
This is a great game, and recently the daily top scorers seem to be the ones with more variety of designs and colours as oppose to just monochrome furnitures/rugs, or turquoise/blue themes. However still upset at the fact that most top designers who scored 5.00 dont follow the required theme and stucked to the same black/white/turquoise/blue/green in order to score a 5.00.
Whenever I started to use red/pink/orange or whatever colour furnitures/rugs prizes that I won while following the theme, I will get “punished” and score a 3.97 or anything below a 4.50. This is quite annoying and shows that most designers dont have imagination and only cared about scoring a perfect 5.00.
The inventory limit for prizes are ridiculous, for example dining chairs are given only 5, when the dining table challenge requires normally 6, and you’d have to spend loads of diamonds in order to get the same type, which is almost impossible. So I’d end up with truck loads of dining chairs prizes which I am unable to use.
Also the prices are way too expensive especially the plants/wall arts and its almost impossible not to spend real money on them.
There should be an option to sell unwanted items or left-overs where they are irrelevant for use.
I would like to suggest the same developer to create Design Garden/Landscape too for those who loves landscaping and gardens.
