Discord is where you can make a home for your communities and friends. Where you can stay close and have fun over text, voice, and video chat. Whether you’re part of a school club, a gaming group, a worldwide art community, or just a handful of friends who want to spend time together, Discord makes it easy to talk every day, and hang out more often.

CREATE AN INVITE-ONLY PLACE

• Send a message directly to a friend or call them up with our voice chat feature
• Voice channels make hanging out easy. Got a free moment? Grab a seat in a voice channel so friends can see you’re around and pop in to talk without having to call. You can even watch videos together!

• Easily talk with friends while gaming and steam roll the competition.
• Be a meme messenger with easy image sharing

STAY CLOSE WITH TEXT, VIDEO, AND VOICE CHAT
• Wave hello over video, watch friends stream their games, share stories over voice calls, or gather up and have a drawing session with screen share.
• Snap a photo and turn it into your own custom emojis and share them with friends.
• Share anything from funny videos and stories to your latest group photos, and pin your favorites to remember those moments later.
• Hang out in group channels or talk privately with direct messages

Discord - a flexible tool

I have used discord for a few years now and it has its limits but has overall been a good experience. Honestly, If I could I would have given it 4.5 stars instead of 5 but discord has been such a great tool for me I’ll round up instead of down. Discord has served me for many purposes and has the potential to be utilised in so many ways. I have used it to meet new friends, keep in touch with family, play computer games with others, create my own role play servers, host D&D sessions, work with others on team projects, manage game clans, share my ideas and art, get help and more.

Your files are too powerful!

App is inherently more inconvenient to use on newer model iphone devices. The limit of a mere 8mb for uploads is beyond laughable, majority of screenshots done on an iphone 12 for example will easily go over this limit prompting the whole ‘files too powerful’ nonsense and asking you to pay to just send a screenshot. I have to dig up an older model phone that should be retired just to send the same screenshot because the screenshots on the older phone don’t go over this ancient 8mb limit. This needs to be expanded.

The app settings and toggle prompts regarding this are terribly outdated as well: There was a toggle for ‘always compress images’ with the ‘files too powerful’ notice that would pop up also saying that you could find this setting under ‘text and images’. This setting for ‘always compress images’ is nowhere to be found in ‘text and images’.
In my experience switching this setting on from the ‘files too powerful’ notice did absolutely nothing for sending images and the toggle no longer appears anywhere to switch it off.
Please fix your app settings and increase the 8mb limit.

Love the app but…

I really love the app and love the new update but I’m not a fan of nitro. I like that some stickers are free to use but would be great to use emotes freely too… at least from one server max. Nitro is nice but some people like myself can’t afford it. The badge goes away after it runs out too. It would be better if we kept the badge forever as we paid for it! I mean it’s kind of obvious someone has nitro from their moving profile or something.
Another thing is the big files. Sometimes I’d share just a photo and get that message popping up… I get videos but why photos?
Also not a fan of being able to search up old DMs even after you block someone or unfriend them. I can see why this may be handy but personally I don’t want to have the option of talking to someone toxic again just because your emotionally attached!
I think what you guys really need to work on are the pedophiles and the underage kids with discord who have access to nsfw.
