The Ecotrack mobile app helps volunteers for community groups record the location of noxious weeds. The New Zealand government has determined certain exotic weeds should be eradicated in order to stop them from invading our native forest. Volunteers can record the location of the weed, the size and quantity, along with a description. They can then take a photo in case they make a mistake identifying the weed species. Then the council gets weed contractors to eradicate the weed.

• Record the location of the weed.
• Describe the species, size and quantity of the weed in that location.
• Take a photo to prove the species.
• Ask for assistance on identifying the weed.
