UNRAVEL THE MYSTERY
Follow the echoes of a lost civilization in a visually-stunning post-apocalyptic world where only robots survive to fight a never-ending war. Fight towards your goal and piece together the fragments to reveal exactly what happened when the old world ended. Is this the dawn of a new Epoch? EPOCH on the iTouch
EPOCH is first and foremost, a cover-based shooter, with lack of free movement.. But do we really need it?
EPOCH sets itself apart by giving you gesture based commands for your robot, from rolls to giant summersaults.
These commands are fluid without any noticeable delay, throw in some skill mechanics and you will find yourself preemptively combing the various skills and gestures in to a fanciful combat situation.
The campaign in EPOCH is very short, with the only replay factor being difficulty settings once you beat the game, which is a shame because I found myself without challenge during my first play through and wished I had the option earlier to change the difficulty because the game was more fun for me at a higher difficulty.
With no multiplayer support currently (but I really hope they add it, I can see it being incredibly fun) EPOCH is a fun game, maybe not worth $9 NZD in its current form, here's to hoping it gets some good updates.
Keep coming back to it
I love this game, it is frickin amazing. I love the concept, the gameplay, the controls, everything....EXCEPT.... The O.G.R.E boss is sooo hard to beat - I've try'd heaps of times but it's just not happening!!.... And I'm only playing on the easy section/setting. Please update and make it possible to kill that boss or I'll lose interest. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that...... Ultimate win :)
Good, but new version is buggy.
Nice graphics and pretty decent game mechanics for a touch based game. The sounds also seem fine to me, especially with headphones. However, the 64bit update crashes frequently on my iPad Air. This version should be faster and smoother since it is 64bit, but it actually seems slower and definitely crashes a lot. As another reviewer said, I can't even finish some stages because of this. Very irritating. Please fix the bugs ASAP.
