One of the best apps ever - but missing key features

Evernote seems to be just about the best app around for mass note storage, especially if you want to clip webpages for offline viewing and highlighting. The tagging feature makes it an incredibly robust database if you are willing to put the time in, as you can search through all of your documents in one central place.

With that said, there are some DIRE oversights that annoy me to this day:
> Notebooks can be placed inside ONE FOLDER, with no subfolder/stacking options. This is by far the biggest problem in Evernote to date, and needs immediate fixing.
> Only one highlight colour.
> PDF markup is clumsy (option to markup in PDFExpert would be appreciated).

The free version is probably more than enough for most users, and for high-level users Premium is well worth the price. Recommended, but please, Evernote team: do implement the requested features ASAP.

Essential Today for Collaboration and Organisation

Evernote is top quality and an essential part of how I work. I collaboratively use it in my coaching to keep updates current with clients. I use it all the time for blog and content generation. Particularly the use of the audio recording. While I am hiking, listening to podcasts, thinking, reading or whatever, I just pull out the phone and record a segment and attach it to a note. I then return to transcribe this and it becomes part of the content for use later on. I use tags more than notebooks to organize everything. Thanks Evernote you just make my life so much easier!!

Essential organiser for text content

I have a bunch of apps that are essential for boosting my productivity and managing the chaos. Evernote is one of them. It does everything you'd expect, and more. I know I barely scratch the surface. That's what I like about it. I can get things organised without needing to learn it in-depth, ans then every now and then when I want to push it a bit further, it works.
Being a Mac and Windows user, the cross platform support with flawless sync is essential.
The tagging and search features are great.
Like the new (ok, been around for ages, new because I'm using them more) table and format features and I also scrape web pages and file receipts from my camera to Evernote like a pro (ok, it's one click but I can make that look easy :)

Evernote looks like a Swiss army knife of functionality, but it's more like a Transformer army knife. You pop open the tiny blade and it turns into a full powered chainsaw. You know that's going to do the job!
