The EyeTV app turns your iPad and iPhone into the ultimate portable television! Access the EyeTV software and hardware running on your Mac at home anywhere you have an LTE/3G or Wi-Fi connection.

Easy Setup
There is no need to reconfigure your local Wi-Fi network. Simply activate the option "iPhone/iPad Sharing" in the EyeTV preferences. Sometimes, fully automatic configuration may not be possible outside of your local network. Please see www.geniatech.eu for details.
If you’re using the OS X firewall, be sure to allow incoming connections for both EyeTV and EyeConnect. EyeTV uses port 2170. If that doesn’t let you connect, try turning off the firewall and turning it back on again.

Some initial setup issues
I bought this app and spent about an hour and a half trying to get it to work on my local network. After checking firewall settings many times and multiple restarts of both my computer and iPod I finally got it to work. The picture quality is great and navigation of my recordings library is a breeze. I really love how I can set a programme to record from my iPod.
This app makes your iPhone best friends with EyeTV. Well worth it for use outside the house.
If your modem supports "Back to my mac" then you are able to access your EyeTV from anywhere with your iPhone.
If you don't have a modem that supports this, then you can only control it over your local network.
Picture quality is good and spped isn't too bad. Just a little unstable at the moment with the odd crash or reset required.
WHEN YOU FIRST INSTALL THE APP, YOU MUST RESTART BOTH YOUR IPHONE & YOUR MAC BEFORE IT WILL WORK PROPERLY!!
Almost great
It is pretty good, works well on my home network, very easy to setup. Playback can have problems though, especially when you want to fast forward through stuff - it often stops playing and you have to reload the video and start again. You need to have a fast home network if you want it work well.
