Yikes, I don’t do ratings or reviews but..

This App has been a blast for me, until I upgraded my smaller of two iPads to a 1TB unit. Much of my GoodNotes worked perfectly for a few years now & has been done on a large screen iPad. The new 1TB included a new pencil but here’s where things went BAD… all my work has now been lost !!! Years of it… simply because of my miss understanding with iCloud that as far as knew I was never using…. So today because what little remnants I had of all my old GoodNotes just didn’t seem to work at all I followed an instruction to remove the App & reinstall it… VERY BAD IDEA. I’m not very happy but thems the breaks… what work I had still is also now gone completely… & worse it looks as if you now have to use iCloud… which I cannot do because it’s not possible to always be connected to the Internet & anyway with 1TB on the iPad there must be enough space… My message to you with this version of GoodNotes you must Back your work up regularly or like me a day will come & it’s all lost for ever!

Cloud storage

Goodnotes only allows files to be synched accross devices through Apple's iCloud, which forces users to buy more iCloud storage. This is expensive compared to others like Dropbox etc. While there is a Goodnotes facility to backup to Dropbox, there is no ability to sync or open Goodnotes files other than thru iCloud. Furthermore, some cloud storage users choose not to use iCloud because other applications only work universally with Onedrive, Google or Dropbox. If Goodnotes could work with Dropbox, Google dxrive and Onedrive, it would increase the integation with other packages like Pages and MSWord etc. How about making Goodnotes more universal by using other cloud storage providers like Dropbox etc ??
