HOW WE GET YOU OFF HINGE
When it comes to online dating, people are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. Here’s how:
* We quickly learn your type. You’ll only be introduced to the best people for you.
* We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You’ll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, as well as information like religion, height, politics, dating intentions, relationship type, and much more.
* We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile.
* We want you to feel confident about meeting people in person. Selfie Verification makes it easier for daters on Hinge to ensure that they are who they say they are.
* We ask how your dates are going. After exchanging phone numbers with a Match, we’ll follow up to hear how your date went so we can make better recommendations in the future.
The app is free to use. Members looking to see everyone who likes them or send unlimited likes can upgrade to Hinge+. To access additional features, including enhanced recommendations and priority likes, we offer HingeX.

Ratings and Reviews
Annoying notifications
The app is good but it constantly has a notification if you haven’t replied. I get that it’s trying to encourage people to talk but sometimes the conversation is simply over and it would be nice to remove the notification without having to unmatch bc you still want to talk to them later. If they changed this it would be perfect 😊
Throw it into a Volcano
Not long ago these apps would give you a decent head start at finding someone, you’d set the up up and usually you’d get the likes trickle in or you'd sift through a sea of uninteresting profiles.
I downloaded this app and expected some sort of traction, I used good photos, whitty captions and nothing. Crickets. Then I remembered, I’m 37 and male! I’m the exact person they want paying for this trash.
So I did, still crickets, not a single like, let alone a match yet. However everywhere I looked I saw Hinge X prompts “boost your profile” “be seen by more people” and I though hmmm this makes sense now.
Long and the short if you’re male 35 and up, expect to pay for this garbage.
It's really better than tinder
I think it's a really good application. The UX is really nice and if they don't mess it up it will definitely serve its purpose and some day will be deleted from my phone.
I like the fact that it's not like tinder or other apps that try to keep you in the app by swiping all the time with 1 second judgments. On Hinge it's kinda fun to read through peoples profiles because it's full of funny QAs that can be used as ice breakers.
I hope they can keep it simple and practical as it is now.
