We make history. Each of our documentaries and podcasts delve into key events from history with insights from experts, survivors, and historians. These are all downloadable onto any device so you can watch them even when you are offline.
To access all features and content you can subscribe to History Hit on a monthly or yearly basis with an auto-renewing subscription right inside the app.* Pricing can vary by region and will be confirmed before purchase in the app. In app subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of their cycle.
* All payments will be paid through your iTunes Account and may be managed under Account Settings after the initial payment. Subscription payments will automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24-hours before the end of the current cycle. Your account will be charged for renewal at least 24-hours prior to the end of the current cycle. Any unused portion of your free trial will be forfeited upon payment. Finally a channel with something interesting to watch all the time
Just as it says on the tin, it’s Netflix for history. All shows are produced for history hit and won’t be available off the channel. With the addition of podcasts there is something while at home or on the go. Viewing is via the app on the phone, apple or roku tv boxes or via Samsung tizen ( note this is why I have given it 4 stars, this is limited to the US currently, which is sad as this would really make it a 5 star channel for me here in NZ) there is no app for PS4/5 or Xbox so far but you never know if the team are looking at these reviews, perhaps one day. The biggest problem I have is knowing what to watch first! Love it.
Huge range of topics and authoritative presenters
What I love about History Hit is that I can always find something that will be both 1) interesting and 2) well presented. The interviews with experts are conducted very well and the presenters have a great knowledge themselves. It’s my go-to for podcasts when working in the garden or driving to work. My only criticism is that it would be nice to be able to EASILY distinguish between, and find, audio-only podcasts and those with video - a simple filter would do the trick and save a lot of frustration Other than that I highly recommend it. Sign up- you won’t be sorry!
Way better than Netflix
I’ve been sick lately and largely bed ridden. This app has been helping keep my spirits up by filling my mind with many interesting stories and new perspectives. Learning about the attitudes and values throughout the ages really helps shed new light on challenges we face today. There’s such variety on the app I’ll be enthralled for ages!
