Great
I have recently bought myself an HP Color LaserJet printer for crafting and it has been good navigating through HP smart. It would be nice if there was some type of tutorial available as I'm not sure what smart tasks is or how to use it.
Also if there was a place like "play and learn" for adults (such as envelope invitation templates, adult colouring pages, etc) that would be awesome. But hey, beggers can't be choosers. Thanks for the great service.
Beyond Greed
Just got a replacement printer as my "old" one broke after three months. Setting it up with the HP Smart app, found that my recently replaced and still almost full ink cartridges do not work on this replacement printer as the software only recognises new cartridges. As if it isn't bad enough that they only supply almost-empty "startup" cartridges with a new printer, and make it impossible to use refilled or generic ones; now they are even making it impossible to transfer my authentic HP cartridges that I only bought a few weeks ago, from my broken printer to the replacement they themselves sent me. What an appalling waste of resources. I'll never buy another HP product, ever.
Software that blocks access to the machines you've brought to print.
Used to be a simple process to scan from or print to my easy-to-use wireless printer to my computer. Now have to use this app to access the printer. Had to reinstall the printer driver but got it to work eventually, but a recent system update has set it all back even further. Now it takes an age to recognise the printer, then insists I log-in before I can access it, but at the log-in page I just get the whirling wheel for minutes on end, then an error. The IT equivalent of endless red tape. Hopeless.
